Well Done MTS
MTS came in for high praise at the Waterloo Government Secondary School from the Honorable Minister of Education Dr. Tim Gopeesingh, as he toured several schools in the central area as part of the Ministry’s ‘Educate, Participate, Eradicate’ National School Clean-up Campaign during the weekend of October 18th 2014.
Minister Gopeesingh described Waterloo Secondary as ‘an example of tremendous good performance by the Company in managing the environment of the school’. He evaluated the school as being ‘immaculate in terms of cleanliness and esthetic surroundings’ and that the Ministry of Education was ‘very pleased and congratulated MTS on that school’ He stated that the Ministry of Education looked forward to that type of support from MTS as they moved along given that MTS manages about eighty government secondary schools and a number of primary schools.
Thanks for achieving 35 years
MTS celebrated the achievement of our 35 years milestone with the hosting of an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service in the car park of the MTS Plaza, Aranguez on Thursday 27th November 2014 in celebration of the Company’s 35th Anniversary.
The evening was deemed Blessed and Special as the rains stopped to allow the Company to enjoy this activity which included a gallant display of marching skills by our security operations comprising the elite, judiciary and mainstream units led by DCSO Ronald Steele and Inspector Selwyn Paul.
The marching display gave way to a well-received musical interlude by Ms. Moricia Cagan accompanied by Dwayne O’Connor who set the tone of the programme when they sang ‘Love Changes Everything’ composed by Michael Ball.
This was followed by scriptural readings and prayers by Pastor Boodram Ramoutar who represented the Christian faith; Mowlana Reyazd Shah representing the Islamic faith; Pundit Sunil Pitchum representing the Hindu faith; and Spiritual Leader Carl Thomas who represented the Spiritual Baptiste faith.
Board Director Mr. Carl Ramdeo brought greetings on behalf of the Chairman who was unavoidably absent and on the behalf of the Board of Directors.
I am on the frontline
The Company’s frontline staff and all employees whose duties involve being the first point of contact with our internal and external clients, are taking center stage with the engaging of these employees in a three-day workshop to be held on November 05 – 07, 2014, geared towards equipping them with the tools and capabilities to deal with varying conditions of interaction.
The basis for training of frontline staff (receptionists, clerks, secretaries, administrative assistants etc.) is to stimulate these employees to contribute to a positive work experience for everyone. Continuous training and retraining of staff is essential to keeping them in step with the needs of our ever evolving environment.
